Basketball Qualification:

Previous Winner: :FRA

Teams Qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics: :BEL:CAN:SRB:KOR

EuroBasket 2019: :HUN:SLO:LAT (However these are all “observer members” of the I’OIF, so if only “full members” can qualify: :GRE:ROU:BUL)

Asia Cup 2019: N/A

AmeriCup 2019: :ARG (If only “full members” can qualify: N/A)

Afrobasket 2019: :SEN:MLI:MOZ:EGY (if only “full members” can qualify, then we lose MOZ, and gain :CIV)

Afrobasket 2019 (Indian Ocean Region): N/A

There will be a crapload of reallocation, but this the provisional qualification picture at the moment. Countries with the best chances at reallocation are: :ALB:CPV:CMR:TUN:MRI:NBR:QUE:WLL

What's with UAE or Serbia participating in the Francophone Games? :p

Countries are considered to be Francophone if, during the 19th Century, the aristocracy sent their children to French speaking schools. See also Poland, Russia, Brazil, Egypt etc.

Brazil isn’t a member of the I’OIF. They compete at the Lusophone Games (which haven’t been held for a few years).

Egypt was colonized by France in the 19th century for 3 years btw and btw Egyptians still use some french words in their normal life without knowing that these are french language :d and ofc France played a vital rule in making world know the egyptian civilization by interpreting Rosetta Stone , so i'd say that it's not really strange for egypt to participate here and ofc there're still french schools still existent in Egypt my mom learned in one of them and French is considered a main foreign language here in egypt it comes just after English

    • Well. A lot of the music played in Denmark for Christmas is the same as most others (at least Western countries)   But I would say that most Danish Christmas music goes into one of three categories.   All three have plenty of different songs, but I put out some personal favourites   The old songs, mainly religious ones. Some have been made into more modern versions.  For this I pick Gasolin's version of Dejlig er Jorden, an old hymn of which the Danish text is from 1850:       The second is the more funny or sarcastic songs. Making fun of Christmas. An older one of these is Jul, det Cool, a rather funny "anti-christmas song"     English translated lyrics: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/jul-det-cool-christmas-its-cool.html   The third category is from the annual TV advent calendars whose theme songs very often become part of the christmas playlists.   These include both advent calendars made for the families and some more "grown up" versions   Lille Store Verden from the family calendar Juleønsket (The Christmas wish) in 2015     And from the "Grown up" calendar Jul på Vesterbro   English lyrics: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/jul-pa-vesterbro-christmas-vesterbro.html

    • Hi guys, Last minute plans to check off 2 items from my bucket list: 1. Watch the winter olympics 2. See the northern lights Contemplating going for some ski jumping action, have always been fascinated! May put in a few hockey games. Short track speed skating and figure skating are a bit too expensive. Is anyone here going to attend any ski jumping event? I am targeting Men's LH on the 14th and trying to plan my itinerary around it. Would it be worth it? Men's super team on the 16th is also an option but was hoping to leave for Tromso, Norway to chase the lights around that time too (hence preferring the event on the 14th). Please let me know if you have any opinions. Thanks
