Why is there no women's C1 and/or C2? I only realize now that there's only one women's event but three men's events :yikes:

because womens C1 is just unwatchable. sorry, but this is just the biggest error of ICF and IOC to insert this event in Tokyo instead of C2.

I agree, women's C1 is unwatchable...

At least there should be more quotas for other events (K1 M, C1 M, K1 W) in 2020, what would be good news for lesser nations like Croatia. That's because all 24 athletes quotas from C2 won't go to women's C1 (they don't deserve anything more than 12 quotas IMO).

even 12 is much...

In Slovakia none understand why they did it, and we are not alone...C2 is the best possible canoe slalom event, just the most entertaining, watching the ability of both paddlers in one canoe, fighting against the wild water and the task of synchronization when they pass the gates is something special and extremely difficult the C2 races are abolutely awesome...but well, what can we do ICF and IOC decided how they decided...

Totally agree; for me it's the most entertaining event of Slalom canoe... I pray they reverse this decision on time, just like they did with kitesurfing

As expected, Pedro Gonlçaves will represent Brazil in the K1 event. Previously, the confederation had also confirmed Charles Corrêa and Anderson Oliveira for the C2 event. No word yet on C1, where three athletes are/were contending for the spot.

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
    • Oh I’m not done yet, unfortunately. From the names that could be back but are still injured   Courtney Hoffos Mikael Kingsbury (should be back before the Olympics) Connor Howe (he returned, but nowhere close to his best so his injury is still giving him issues) Connor Bedard Meryeta O’Dine Megan Oldham
