At least someone has managed to accomplish something during quarantine :yikes:

Not the cleanest trick you’ll ever see, but it’s still a milestone. I don’t think we’ll see Gui in Tokyo since he really is a vert specialist, but he has said that he’d like to go if given the opportunity. I don’t think he can qualify since he hasn’t competed in any of the qualification events. I’m not sure how Brazilian he is because he spoke near perfect English (with no real accent) in all his interviews, but he’s representing them well nonetheless.

Here an article about him in Portuguese. Maybe you can translate the page if you want to know a little more about him.

He and his family moved to California when he was 2 years old, because of that he speaks English so well.

I think California has one of the highest densities when it comes to producing world class athletes.

A freak accident, but those are the ones that have deadly consequences in action sports.

11 year old elite athlete in a quite dangerous sport almost dies in horrific accident. The first thing she says is that she's going to push even harder for next year's Olympics. Adults keep encouraging her in her quest for glory

How many 11 year old football players suffer major injuries that put them out of the sport? How many kids who play American Football have already had more than one concussion by age 11? Kids can get killed skiing at age 11. Skiers can and have been killed training for the Olympics. One marathoner died in the middle the 1912 Olympic Marathon. Italy pushes many girls to be elite gymnasts starting earlier than age 11. People seem to die quite often in Dakar Rally, and everyone seems to be okay with that.

I’m not saying their isn’t a problem here. I’m just saying that you’re attempting make case that a sport is dangerous, while basically over looking basic dangers of every other sport on the Olympic program.
