It’s a good thing you’re sending the girls to Lausanne then I guess :p

yeah, however the YOG is for the U18 among boys and U16 for girls. Our U18 class for this year is slightly better and more competitive than the last year one (which was even relegated and fully deserved :wall:), so I would rather see the boys playing in Lausanne.

The federation had the chance to send the boys, but decided the girls were better (or had better chances)

I know. The U16 girls tournament is completely open and the girls can with some luck and good days fight even for bronze, which would be quite hard to imagine in the boys tournament, considering the competition. but still I would love to see this U18 class there, guys like Chromiak or Myklukha are supposed to be "FINALLY" the real promising talents.

I am a bit sad about the decision also because this way pitty this generation will don´t have the chance to play any elite level tournament, since last years team relegated they  will have to play only at the U18 Division I A in April. and even if they win the tourney (which they MUST) they will not be eligible anymore for the next years eventual top division :(

Lafreniere hurt, did not look good, could be the end of Canada if he's out the rest of the tournament

I saw that move, his knee clearly moved wrong way, defnitely did not look good, he could not stand on that feet when he was taken away of the ice.

    • If Colturi were to return to Italy, we will have another super duo after Goggia and Brignone. If Colturi has to return, it would be right now, when alpine skiing is so popular here. There are still girls like Pirovano, who are quite young and are already started winning. Alpine skiing in Italy is similar to ski jumping in Poland: there are speak about no young talents, but there is always someone new – it is a matter of the popularity of these sports in these countries and the large amounts of money invested in them.
    • World Cup Finals in Lillehammer (NOR)   Women´s Slalom:   1. Mikaela Shiffrin    2:07.61 2. Wendy Holdener    2:08.93 3. Emma Aicher    2:08.97   Full Final Results HERE

    • Holdener beat Aicher for 2nd place by 0.04 so Aicher has to win the last GS to have any chance for the overall (trails Shiffrin by 85 pts).
    • Shiffrin wins by 1.32 secs! Business as usual
    • Anna Trocker takes the lead despite a big mistake. Maybe there is some future for  alping skiing
    • Lucas seems to be on another level in Giant Slalom right now.
    • Pinheiro Braathen wins the last GS and the small globe! Odermatt DNF in the first run and he's really tailed off in the last races.
    • Christa Deguchi (judo)   Olympic champion in 57kg in Paris and multiple time World Champion
