Happy for Rostamian

but then again Japan denied Iran another quota :wall: Golnoush is even tied with the Japanese shooter but Yamada has more Xs :( it was very close between non-qualified shooters

Aah Haniyeh Rostamian. That girl who won a gold in university games in Napoli ahead of Golnush, Deswal and the Korean.

actually it was another Iranian girl Dorsa Arabshahi who won the gold ahead of Rostamian and the rest. Golnoush (I have to call her by her first name, she has quite a LONG surname :d ) wasn't in Naples.

as we know Shooting is unpredictable, that girl Arabshahi didn't even make the Iranian team for this event !

I see but Haniyeh is talented. Did she reach a final by any chance in Delhi WC

she even won a bronze but that wasn't enough for the quota at the time !

yes I think she is more talented than her teammates in Iran women's pistol team. specially Golnoush who has a history of choking in crucial moments. she still has one last chance in women's 25m pistol though.

Vijayveer Sidhu scored 586 in Mqs in 25m rapid pistol. He would have gotten a quota otherwise

Could be curtains for Shreyasi Singh finishing 7th probably.

She's 5th with 114.But Basil Ray and Reem would surpass her unless they hit something like 19s or less.

Men's trap we will have at least Kynan Chenai if he can continue his form. All but over for Prithviraj.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
