Biathlon IBU Cup 2019 - 2020

I know, I was talking about not so great yesterday to much better today.  I wonder if those who have dome the Mass Start 60 statistically do better in the 1-30 slots or 31-60.  I know that the sample size is very small, and the better ones are usually in the top 30, but is there an advantage of one over the other?

No idea in terms of stats, but I'd say 1-30 is better because first of all that group has the better athletes and second, they can shoot earlier in the race, so have an (unfair) advantage.

Congregations to Birkenland.  I think those who thought Bourgeois Republic would come in a blow everyone away at the IBu Cup, and there were some, have realised how hard the steps up in competition are.

 

I love the long process, there are some who come in and make a splash and do very well at the next me el, but for most, there is a slow process.

Semenov of Ukraine takes the men's short individual. 1 miss helped him win by 50 seconds.  Travis Cooper started the race.  Had had been #4 for the US in the first two WC events.  Paul Schommer who had been doing well so far this season missed 8 shots to finish 6:55 back.

Conditions are awfully hard today, it's too warm, it's wet, it's more like a mud race  Hence huge differences already before shooting 1

Odd that conditions are so poor at Obertilliach.  Usually one of the colder venues.

Yeah, because the track itself is right between some mountain ridges in a 'cold spot' --> if it's sunny, I believe the sun still never really gets on the track, apart from maybe the edge somewhere (and the wax cabins)

Dunja Zdouc is flying, even faster than Andersson at shooting 2 (14 seconds!) despite both having one miss.

 

Clean second shooting for Weidel who takes the lead there
