I seem to recall watching some of the road racing at London because it was actually relatively easy for the broadcaster to cover as it all took place on the motor racing circuit at Brands Hatch.

We've subsequently had coverage of the road racing at more recent Games. Certainly in Tokyo where some of the events took place in absolutely torrential rain.

There were some basic cameras but not many.

Cross referencing the results system, and the IPC database...

:FRO:GUY:MAD:TJK competed at Tokyo 2020, but don't appear in the results system for Paris 2024. Faroe Islands is then set to be unrepresented at the Summer Paralympic Games for the first time since 1984.

:BAN:TLS:MAC:MYA:SOL:TGA:TTO:TKM:VAN return after missing Tokyo 2020. Bangladesh last competed at Beijing 2008. Solomon Islands and Vanuatu last competed at London 2012. Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; Macao, China; Myanmar; Tonga; Trinidad and Tobago last competed at Rio 2016.

Disclaimer: I checked your question on the fly, so there's a chance I missed an NPC for either category.

Yes, but my point was that there was some coverage contrary to what had been stated and that it has subsequently improved.

The cameras were provided by Channel 4 themselves and not on the world feed if I remember rightly. So much if not all the rest of the world didn’t get the footage.

Sad if the Faroe Islands miss out. They have medalled in the past.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
