Artistic Gymnastics FIG Junior World Championships 2023

Crazy underperformance by Kevric, the best european gymnast in this age group. She should have sleepwalked into the floor and all-around final.

yeah! another Bronze medal for :ITA thanks to Riccardo Villa in the men's All-Around.

he saved the day by the smallest of margin, finishing ahead of :JPN Tomuharu Tsunogai by just 0.001 :yikes::dunno:

Gold went to :CHN Qin Guohuan and Silver to :COL Angel Barajas.

later in the afternoon, the girls will contest their All Around competition.

Really tight competition overall. Only 0.9 points between first and fifth, all those guys seem to be on pretty much the same level. The colombian guy is one year younger than the german/italian guy, so he looks like a bigger talent right now. Overall great results for Italy, they continue to be really impressive at junior level.

Good results for Germany on the men's side so far, not where they should be, but better than in the past. Of course the absence of the russian athletes has to be taken into account.

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
