Vektor 3,195 Posted April 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) @phelps Who makes the call on this event, the EFC or FIE? Because EFC is very clearly against Russian participation and they are in a direct conflict with FIE on this. I have seen rumors that FIE wants to move this event to Budapest where Russians would be allowed to participate, but the European Federation would be very much against this. I don't call even some kind of dispute off.

I’d imagine any decision would likely need to be okayed by the EOC and local organizers as well (if the FIE would like to remain a part of the European Games). “Sport has the power to change the world. Orangehair43 177 Posted April 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2023 Would it be the a lot of the European games that need moving. Not just Fencinf that might be letting the Russians back.

Vektor 3,195 Posted May 20, 2023 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2023 Okay, this is getting real. It's time for the European federations to stand up and fight because this is beyond ridiculous. FIE is killing fencing.

Unless the ranking points are going to be taken from the other continental events then how is there a level playing field for all athletes looking to secure qualification to Paris? Vektor 3,195 Posted June 25, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2023 isn't sweeping this time in women's foil. 2 x + + + so far in the Top8, good day for Central/Eastern Europe in women's foil.
