The square union in principle is for Israel but my question is who would be the 1st book union, because the following are the Dutch and Spanish 2 and have fallen into the same round of repescas. If the Israelite classified in the 2020 world or would have a vacancy for who would be the square of the 1st reservation?

good question...I fear that they would eventually go down to the team ranking points...and the representative from the team higher in the 2019 ISA Worlds final ranking would finally prevail...

but this is just my logical interpretation, based on the criteria they will use also for some reallocation of the WSL spots (where they will go down to the team world champion at the ISA Games having priority for a 3rd surfer if the WSL ranking can't fill all the established quota places)...

actually, I don't have (and I fear nobody has) any clue about such kind of situation (hoping it doesn't happen, so we don't have toworry about it)...

After the end of today's competition, a update about the olympic quotas for men.

Asia: :JPN:MON:PHI are in round with 3, 2 and 1 surfer, respectively. At repechage round 3 there are the other surfers from :MON:PHI and only one from :CHN and :LBN

Africa: Only :MAR has a surfer in Round 3. :RSA has its three surfers in Repechage

Oceania: Only :NZL may get this quota. Billy Stairmand is the best athlete from this continent so far. He's at Round 3. The other two surfers are in Repechage. (Again, I'm not counting Australia)

Europe: Round 3: :ISR:POR:GER:ITA:SUI:GBR:ESP and at Repechage: :FRA(They will qualify through WSL):GBR:ITA:ESP:ISR:NED:GRE:IRL:SWE

Oceania and Africa have defined their Olympic quotas.

Billy Stairmand from :NZL will be the best athlete in Oceania and conquered his quota.

In Africa, the quota goes to Ramzi Boukhiam from :MAR. He is doing an incredible journey in this competition. Up this moment he's in Round 6.

Tomorrow we will find out the quotas in Europe and Asia, and probably, the champion. The battle for European quotas is between :POR:GER:ESP:ITA and the Asian quota :JPN:MON

Wait, tomorrow we will probably find out the champion? That's not sure? :p

in Surf you can never be sure...there's always a chance that the weather conditions force to call the day off/slow down the program and force to go to the next day to end the tournament...

and in this particular event there's also the chance of a tie for 9th/11th/13th etc. places, which could make the Olympic qualification a mess (at least for us, I'm sure that ISA officials know what's the tie-breaker in case of 2 candidates to the Olympic ticket sharing the same final position)...

this Moroccan guy is just unbelievable...I did never, never expected him to go this far...

and tbh I didn't expect also our guy to be still in the competition at this stage of the event...

by the way, I think Morais is pretty much the man who should take the European quota...even if the fact that the Spanish and the German guy are in the same repechage heat could help 1 of the 2 to stay alive also after rep. round #9...

    • Apparently this season will be last one in Kamil Stoch career if his results wont be enough good for his standards.
    • Such a nice one for Colturi ! That was fun. It almost looked like a script with the cameras focusing on Colturi a couple of times before her first run and showcasing the potential of youngster and she didn't disappoint.      I hope Colturi skis for Albania forever. So much fun to cheer her with the Albanian flag.    I don't get it why everyone is being so critical of Colturi, you got no right to criticize a personal decision, as most European nations use imported athletes in many sports like wrestling and cheer them on like their.   Would you spend hours criticizing Frank Chamizo for switching to Italy rather than playing for Cuba?

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
