There is no doubt, which sport is the one, who could bring some joy for host nation. Ski jumping were always been kind of national sport. After major Beijing Olympics success this season had a lot of ups and downs. Among men we had a lot of podium candidates, but only Lanišek was quite constant. Among women sadly two times Olympic champion Urša Bogataj ended season due to injury, Nika Križnar had also some crisis. I still believe because Planica always brings out the best from our athletes, at least 3-5 medals should be realistic goal to achieve. But because we all know WCH are special competition, organized only once every two years, a single medal could save all the organizers efforts.

Anna Odine Stroem wins the women's NH qualifying. Longest jumps: Loutitt 99.5, Stroem & Pinkelnig 99.0, Althaus 98.5. Also Ito 94.5 with bad wind.

 

Only one qualified for the main show - Nicole Konderla in 31st.

Ema Klinec will try to defend her title today, hope that Nika Križnar is feeling even better than yesterday, also Maja Vtič is jumping really well, Nika Prevc and Katra Komar have still some reserves. So hoping for all 5 to come in Final Round, maybe even in top 20, and to stay at least with one girl with a medal chance till the end.

It looks like Lovro Kos got internal qualifications ahead of Prevc brothers for tomorrow's qualifications. 

 

So probably no Prevc tomorrow, other 3 were already qualified.

That is correct, Fettner is dropped by Austria and Tander & Johansson by Norway among the big teams.

 

Kubacki missed the training due to a back injury, can't say if it's a real injury or just a smoke screen by the team.

And interesting, 62 jumpers will compete in qualification, which is only 5 jumpers more than with women.

Women's NH event has started. Nicole Konderla 85.5 meters. Tail wind so far.

A complete disaster for the team. Not a single one will be in Top 10 after the 1st round.

Anna Odine Stroem leads by 4.7 pts ahead of Althaus. Pinkelnig is third but 8.5 pts back.
