Brilliant match by Geert de Vos so far, averaging far over 100 after a bit more than one set

Telnekes came on to the oche, threw his dart.....hit D20 and thought he won the leg, only to hear 'No score', because he had 30 left instead of 40

Defending champion Glen Durrant made a statement about the future:

 

If he reaches the semi-finals at Lakeside, he'll stay at the BDO for the rest of his career.

If he loses to Fitton in the 2nd round or loses the quarter-final, he'll try the PDC Q-School.

Lakeside is starting to be a really good tournament this year. Scott Waites and Glen Durrant escaped against Andy Baetens and Jim Williams in today's quarter finals, both were very exciting matches, too bad both matches were lost by the player I preferred to win  

 

Then tonight, one of the surprises of the tournament, German debutant Michael Unterbuchner, beat Dutchman Richard Veenstra in yet another deciding set (just like the first two quarters). Now Welshman Wayne Warren is playing absolutely brilliantly against Mark McGeeney, BDO's number one ranked player and the number two seed, I hope Wayne and his beautifully natural style keep this up and get to the semi's

Warren with 120 for the match....T20 and then....D2  

 

McGeeney picked up the chance and made it 4-4, meaning all four quarter finals will have been decided after the maximum of 9 sets

And McGeeney takes the win. Damn, 4 quarter finals today and 3 of them really went against my wish, the other one sort of but I liked boh Veenstra and Unterbuchner, so that's alright.

We're going to a deciding set for the championship 

 

Durrant giving away chance after chance, so much that even the rather miseranly playing McGeeney could come back

Durrant missed 3 darts to get back to 2-2 while McGeeney was on a double, but McGeeney missed all 3 match darts followed by Durrant taking it out on D1 with his last dart
