something has changed, there's no way all the late starters are losing so much in the top part of the track...

Marco Büchel is talking about how the sun shining stronger now might have caused a slight upwind at the top part of the track. Which might explain a lot of people losing time there (and not so much in the bottom).

Sun should make the course faster as we get closer to mid-day for later numbers but guess not...

The 1992 OG speed races were in Val d'Isere and the technical races in Tignes IIRC.
