Shooting ISSF World Championships 2023

Looks like Germany might have a chance for a quota place in women's trap. Very surpising.

Why is skeet mixed team olympic but not trap mixed team? Don't really get the reason for having individual and mixed shooting events at the olympics, seems like an overkill.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

They switch the events every time. In Tokyo it was Trap mixed and now it is Skeet mixed.

Btw, if Kathrin Murche really wins the quota, Germany will have 8 quotas already.

Beside France as the host with a lot of guaranteed quotas, only China and USA would have more quotas as of today.

Fingers crossed for Jessica and Silvana from Germany for the shoot-off.

As Silvana Stanco missed the finals, the quotas are not decided yet.

:SMR:GER:IND:CHN and :TPE for the 4 quotas

men's Trap

:SVK Marian Kovacocy and :KUW Khaled Almudhaf are safe in the final (and will fight for the OQPs) @hckošice

then, we have a 7-man shoot-off for the last 4 places in the decisive act:

:USA Derrick scott Mein and William Hinton (both not competing for any OQP)

:CZE Jiri Liptak (also not competing for an OQP, as he's already qualified)

:ITA Giovanni Pellielo :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: (53 years old, 4-time Olympic medallist, this would be his 8th Olympic participation, if he gets until there, of course)

:CRO Giovanni Cernogoraz

:ESP Andres Garcia

:AUS Mitchell Iles

the last 4 will fight for both the final and the OQPs

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
