According to PCS, 58 different NOCs compete in the men's event, and that's a new record. Past record was 51 in 2013.

tbh, :ITA Sierra throw that away with 2 capital mistakes

first, he allowed :DEN Storm to create the hole when :DEN Philipsen started on the last part of Montrose Steet (could he to stay with the Dane there, he would have gone with him for the rest of the race), then he killed his chances of getting at least a silver with that gear changing mistake with only a couple of kms left...he could even comeback in reach of the 2nd and 3rd, but he just missed a few hundred meters to catch them)

 

very unlucky day for him (even if because of his own mistakes)

58 Nations, NOCs are 56 ( the two without olympic committees are :AIA & :VAT). But, yeah new record regardless

      Just finished with PanAm Weightlifting Championship. Looking forward to the first Boulder World Cup this weekend. The Relay Championships will be good, too.  Might catch some of the W 3x3 action, too. Unfortunately the Ft. Lauderdale Open (Swimming) doesn't have a good stream.   (Might go back and watch the Oceania Weightlifting Championship.)

      So CAN & AUS are auto Q into the semis   SWE v SCO and ITA v JPN are the two qualifiers tomorrow morning. and then the two semis are tomorrow evening.  Medal matches on Sunday.   NZL v FRA and HUN v FIN to avoid the drop to the B division next year.    Unfortunately, not seeing any FTA coverage anywhere.
