no, it's not wrong...as they used only the quali in each discipline (not the overall result, as I wrote just a few seconds ago)...

I think they considered the overall result . not the qualification. but they removed the other athletes from the list. (for example speed specialists who didn't enter other events)

Owww, so they did it right and I am wrong with a simple math

thanks, finally we've got everything in the right place...

but they should explain that they used the average between the 2 tied places...because from that ranking (they clearly reported 16th, noth position #16.5 and so on) it looks that they made wrong calculations...

Probably they didn't think that someone can calculate this on his own :d

Watching the speed finals now and the commentator made a bit of a weird remark: "Iuliia Kaplina broke the world record...more than seven times!"

So what, she broke it eight times? Why not just say "She broke the world record eight times" then?

.

Maybe he remembers seven, but is not sure if it was eight or even more. I don't know, just guessing.

Finished watching and I'm disappointed :p

- Alipour and Mawem, my two favourite speed climbers, out because of an early mistake
- Song on her way to a potential world record in the semi but slipped and lost
- Fossali in the final because Boldyrev made a false start in the semi
- Jaubert took bronze in the only possible way: because someone else slipped (all her wins I've seen were because of slips or false starts)
- Disappointingly poor men's final and to make it worse, Kriz lost (I like Kriz, much like Alipour and Mawem he climbs with some sort of awesome animalistic style, as if nature made them for this...it's like watching a work of art)

At least Miroslaw's fantastic time in the final made up for some disappointments :d

And after two weeks of watching a lot of climbing (pretty much the entire season except for Moscow which I had seen at the time) I'm now finally all caught up and updated :cheer:

Very much enjoyed both the boulder and lead competitions at these championships :cheer: Even though I'm a bit underwhelmed with the overall atmosphere as compared to Innsbruck, which seemed much 'bigger' and impressive.

and it's not good for heart if you are watching :d

. speed will be in 2024 Olympic program. I really hope they change the format by then. a best of 3 run won't take too much time.

Considering the attention span of today's sports viewers, speed climbing runs are way too long. They take at least 5-6 seconds man, how can one stay engaged that long?!

Spoiler

 They should have a best-of-3 format before anything else, better yesterday than today even :p

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
