Tomorrow we have at least 3 events with 1 point (pole vault men/women and 3000m steeplechase men) but in rest our best events are tomorrow (long jump women, high jump women, 1500 women, relay women, discus throw men, javelin throw men)so maybe we have a chance to finish in top 7 ....

In men's pole vault, I think you can manage 3 points so that could be vital :d

Tomorrow is also a very weak day for our team with men's triple jump, women's long jump and men's javelin expecting only 1 or 2 points and it's not like we are great in the pole vault or any of the other field events. So I think you have every chance of overtaking us. But could be an intense battle between Ireland, Romania, Hungary and Belgium with 2 going down. Hungary are expecting a strong day tomorrow but on the form of today and Friday's events, they re under-performing pretty much across the board.

I think Turkey will be safe, not troubling the leaders but just enough above the relegation scrap.

Why exactly is women's pole vault being held hours before anything else?

I think it's because the organisers looked at the weather forecast and saw that the best chance for no rain would be around this time. They moved the pole vault from yesterday to today because of the chance of rain. Besides that, there are two pole vault events today, so scheduling could be a reason.

the conditions are just awful..no chance to fight even for Doha standards...I was hoping Veszelka will make it in triple jump, but no way..if even Pichardo can not jump 17m ...

Terrible disaster for the Irish girl in the 100m hurdles - was up and contending for a top three finish, hit a hurdle, came to a dead stop and had to walk in for two points. f

five points of course.

Into the relegation zone...

    • you don't even have idea how it works   last week he was the best of the field and now he's in bad shape?   on Friday he was 24th despite 4 (4!!!!!) missed shots and Yesterday he suddenly went out of shape?   be serious!   he either just had bad skis or he got sick, like many other athletes (see Vittozzi)   the snow in LGB is usually shit, results are always heavily influenced by that and Italy is one of the teams that usually struggle a lot in that place   nothing new and nothing to be worried about

Since we are approaching the festive holiday season, I want you all to post some festive songs from your country. • Juniors were there recently and the track was awful   Although that's not necessarily bad. Tracks don't all need to be fast, a slow track (like the horribly slow one in Poland) simply favors a different style of athletes. Training a lot there doesn't really give much extra advantage though, not like in sliding sports where of course as host country you make sure your athletes know every single meter a year before the Olympics.    And to get back on topic: speed skater Elisa Dul broke her tibia and fibula in a training fall yesterday and will obviously be out of the OQT and so the Olympics.
    • The PSL race in Davos was (yet another) insult to a beautiful discipline. The red course (which was actually yellow) had several holes and an exposed ice sheet, which made the athletes slide way too long, causing DNFs or massive time losses. The only positive note is that Caffont won despite racing on the more dangerous course in the final
