The final day of the Delhi State Athletics Championship (September 23-26), at the warm-up track of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital, turned into a cat-and-mouse game between athletes and doping control officers on Tuesday.

…and tack on a few more months of waiting in the Valieva case.

It's ridiculous.  It's been 1.5 years, what's more time going to do?  It's obvious they're trying to wait long enough for people to forget so they can let the cheating Russians keep their medal. Yet again it is proven any competition where Russian athletes take part is a farce.

Out of nowhere, an original excuse for a failed test - accidentally ingesting your son’s cough medicine.    Judging by his photo, “caught it off a tattoo needle” might have been worth a shot.

Also: matches my theory that many doping fails are ageing professionals looking for another couple of seasons of paydays.  :bye:

    • Draws are now out: https://ausopen.com/draws   As usual, some intriguing first round matchups.   ‪Osaka/Garcia and Gauff/Kenin are the main ones that stand out on the women’s side, while for the men it’s Hurkacz/Griekspoor, Dimitrov/Fognini and Monfils/Mpetshi Perricard, but there’s so many quality matchups that it’s tough to only pick a couple. I’m interested to see who Fonseca draws as a Q, that’ll be a matchup players want to avoid.
