The start of the Vasaloppet is without a doubt one of the most magical moments of the year of sports, every year again

Stian Hoelgaard vs Petter Eliassen for the win with 9km to go.

Eliassen takes his 2nd win and already his 8th Worldloppet victory after coming out of Hoelgaard's tracks in the last meters. Hoelgaard is devastated and understandably so, considering his results in the past five years:

 

2016: 2nd

2017: 2nd

2018: 3rd

2019: 2nd

2020: 2nd

Yep, I would have easily won this even with @brunamoura participating in the contest.

The results are insane though! Same track as the 5km freestyle they had in November, very hot weather today so definitely not easy by any means, yet the improvements everyone made compared to November (which for most girls were their fastest races ever there already!).

 

Bruna: 1:07 minutes faster

Duda: 1:11 minutes faster

Gabi: 33 seconds faster

Tatah: 1:16 minutes faster

Mayara: 1:21 minutes faster

Dandara: 3:21 minutes faster
