9 Slovak youngs were selected to attend the "rookie camps" 2 of them (Fehervary and Studenič) with realistic chances to actually make it to the final team this season and raise the not very impressive amount of our 10 current NHLers (Jaroslav Halák, Zdeno Chára and Peter Cehlárik (Boston), Andrej Sekera (Dallas), Christián Jaroš (Ottawa), Erik Černák (Tampa Bay), Martin Marinčin (Toronto), Tomáš Tatar (Montreal), Richard Pánik (Washington) and Tomáš Jurčo (Edmonton).

Slovaks at Rookie Camps

Anaheim Ducks - Roman Durný (G)

Boston Bruins - Róbert Lantoši (F)

Calgary Flames - Martin Pospíšil (F), Miloš Roman (F), Adam Ružička (F)

New Jersey Devils - Marián Studenič (F)

New York Rangers - Adam Húska (G)

Tampa Bay Lightning - Maxim Čajkovič (F)

Washington Capitals - Martin Fehérváry (D)

and pretty good start for Martin Feherváry, scoring 2 goals in the first test game :yes. points last night also for Maxim Čajkovič and Róbert Lantoši. Martin Pospíšil started the camp with first brawl

Martin Fehervary becomes last night the 87th Slovak playing an NHL match.

WTG Martin.

he embellished his debut with this nice self-sacrificing intervention.

Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters has been kicked out (well, officially he resigned) after being accused of saying 'nigger'* to a player 10 years or so ago.

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2019/11/29/bill-peters-fired-calgary-flames-coach-akim-aliu-racial-slur/4309546002/

*We can assume that's what he said, since another article mentioned the godawful American-style wording 'the N-bomb' and I doubt 'new player in the team' counts as N-bomb.

So this happened last weekend...it's now been confirmed Bouwmeester suffered a heart attack. He was 'awake and conscious' when arriving at the hospital, so that's good.

    • If Colturi were to return to Italy, we will have another super duo after Goggia and Brignone. If Colturi has to return, it would be right now, when alpine skiing is so popular here. There are still girls like Pirovano, who are quite young and are already started winning. Alpine skiing in Italy is similar to ski jumping in Poland: there are speak about no young talents, but there is always someone new – it is a matter of the popularity of these sports in these countries and the large amounts of money invested in them.

    • Holdener beat Aicher for 2nd place by 0.04 so Aicher has to win the last GS to have any chance for the overall (trails Shiffrin by 85 pts).
    • Shiffrin wins by 1.32 secs! Business as usual

    • Lucas seems to be on another level in Giant Slalom right now.
    • Pinheiro Braathen wins the last GS and the small globe! Odermatt DNF in the first run and he's really tailed off in the last races.
