now we can finally say it: this championship is a total disaster, the worst Italian team since 1995...:hairpull::thumbdown:

what a shame! :nopompom:

now we only need to compromise the Olympic qualification in a couple of events and make a lot of people happy...:bones::facepalm:

Well, this is historic. For the first time since 1987 Italy wasn't able to reach the final in any of the individual fencing events. (and in 1987 women's epee and women's sabre didn't exist)

and with this one, I'm dead and gone...

see you in the other forum's threads...

Celebrate the diversity ... :d

You can't ask for more diversity (if you can call another day with 7 european and one south korean athlete in semifinal really diverse ...) and at the same time be unhappy about Italy getting less dominant. :finger:

Crazy to see how bad german fencing has become, now even countries like Hong Kong, Brazil, Greece or GB will finish ahead of Germany in the medal table.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases

It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
