:CUB Olympic Boxing team accepted the invitation from our Boxing federation to have a training camp here in the purpose to also help (read: Teach) our boxers obviously :yikes:

In this occassion they visited Slovak Olympic Museum in Bratislava just to apparently play some table hockey there :p

First time I see table football with hockey players :p

Serious ?

it is quite widespread, admittedly not as much as table football though.

:USA will boycott both world championships held by the IBA this year. Governance issues, along with the IBA’s decision to let BLR/RUS boxers compete with their flag and anthem, cited as mains factors for the boycott.

There will be much bigger problems if boycotts extend to continental multi-sport events. I’m not sure how many of those events are overseen by the IBA still, but boycotts could leave Olympic qualification a mess (assuming the sport is still on the program at the end of the year.)

I don't think have the IBA have any part in the Olympic qualifying system (same as Tokyo)

Are they not governing some of the multi-sports games tournaments? I thought they still had a hand in some?

    • Imoco's squad is getting older, and it will be increasingly difficult to win the Champions League, while other Italian clubs don't have much money. In a next year, Turkey will have three super-strong clubs in the Champions League and Italy will only have Imoco, which has retained its core squad, but it's getting older: Wołosz, de Gennaro and Zhu won't be better than before. I fear this was Italy's last chance for Champions League win for many years.

    • Oh, and he also spoke badly of the Brazilian organization at the last world championship, even saying that the athletes contracted fleas, haha. It's brave to say that when the main Brazilian player is on the team and to think that Brazilians will accept it calmly.    It didn't take long for the apology to come (they even did it in Portuguese).
    • Yeah, was noticed and corrected on Day 2.
    • What about Day 2 though? Were the markings correct that day? Because I am still blown away by Mawdsley’s 48.34     I am guessing though it was mainly only affecting the first leg runners?
    • well, those splits were actually suspect   now we know they weren't reliable at all
    • Stories emerging that on Day 1, the track was wrongly marked.  Specifically the start marks for Lane 3 on the 4x400m meant that runners were running short distance.  Don't know what is going to be done, but presumably WA must stand by the results, although any records set will be scrubbed.
