yes  we had Karam Gaber in 2008 and he lost in 1st round in Greco-Roman and Hesham Mesbah in 2012 and he lost in 1st round in judo also :D and i think we're not anyhow alone in this belief

Zonderland and Van Vleuten feel like the most obvious choices to me too. But what about Kromowidjojo? Another icon of TeamNL for the past decade in her probably last games.

we have players (even stars) who dip their stick into the toilet if they can't score for a long time. one our star did it at the Olympics during the intermission.

I'd prefer Heemskerk if it's gonna be a swimmer  (which I doubt, because they have to compete early on I think?)

Men's qualification in gymnastics is the day after the Opening Ceremony. So that makes Zonderland pretty unlikely as a flag bearer.
