after the first day completely off because of rain, today we have 2 matches...

in the early one, England just destroyed Bangladesh, establishing all sort of offensive records for the CWC and the ODI format...

they scored the amazing amount of 386 runs in 50 overs (only 6 wickets fallen)...Bangladesh could respond only with 280 runs in 48.5 overs before they were all out...therefore, the official score is: England win by 106 runs

in the other game, New Zealand is on the verge of beating Afghanistan...they're still playing, but they only need about 30 runs from 130 balls (only 3 wickets fallen so far for them) to overtake AFG 172 runs scored in 41.1/50 overs (all out)...so, I guess that in a few minutes we're going to have the official score also for this match...

England really dominated....... but i feel they are getting hand picked pitches

yeah, at some point AFG bowlers just gave up doing their job seriously and threw the ball like they were at the park with their friends...

on the other hand, you always need some help from your opponents when you establish those kind of records...it's not just an ordinary day at the office...

West Indies flag needs to be added immediately. I bet it would be more useful than :ZNZ Zanzibar.

My summary for this week’s action is going to be easy to write at this point.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela

    • We´ll see. anyway, I hope hope so.   It was her first career senior bout, maybe a bit too early, to be thrown in the lion´s den, but if all this will result in a medal in LA 28 I am all in

    • @hckošice, even though Tomankova lost, she had a good fight against Costa, I think soon she and Babulfath will be the stars of -48kg.

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
