Also amazing competition for Isaac Nuñez  If not for that deduction on floor he could have ended in fifth, but sixth is quite an achievement for this guy.

 

He did well, better than what I expected. If  he keeps this form until Worlds, I have no doubt he might be used as a backup in case CORRAL decides not to compete in the all around.

Sadly, it seems Mexico's medal is at risk here... Daniel Corral reported a slight shoulder injury, so today he was in observation to determine whether he will compete in tomorrow's final.

Horrible pommel horse final. One of the worst I've seen in my life. I don't even know if I can force myself to celebrate this gold medal. Kudos to Barretto for not crumbling under pressure completely, but even he had very noticeable mistakes.

Peru's only medal in gymnastics was earned in 1979 (a bronze medal on men's vault). Moreto had a once in a lifetime opportunity, he could even have won gold, and a bronze medal was definitely within reach even with a not so great routine from him.
