This is why we need to bring back the Winter Pan American Games. We have at least 5 countries that could compete in cross country skiing and biathlon for sure. Not to mention alpine skiing, speed skating, and figure skating.

Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, USA, Canada: cross-country

USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Chile: cross-country and biathlon

If the games were hosted by Whistler, Salt Lake, or Lake Placid; All the sliding sports could be contested as well. I’m so upset PanAm Sports hasn’t tried to revive the idea.

Forget sliding sports, if you do that there's literally only three possible hosts :p

Well that’s what I’m saying, should the hypothetical games go to any of those cities, sliding sports could be added to the program. If not, oh well.

Do not forget Venezuela for Cross Country!  OK, maybe they have more important things to focus on right now.

There actually have 3-4 cross country skiers. One of them would be good enough to compete at the hypothetical games.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
