Bronze for the curling lassies!  Things looking good for the Olympic Q, they look like a stable, settled team at last.

Just reminded elsewhere: top 6 in the Worlds this year is an automatic first-tranche Olympic Qual, so that is the target.

Some great shots from the guys, but consistency was not there, so only.a Silver.  Not so very long ago that two curling medals was the start of the winter season for Team GB, but here we are with piles of medals already.  :cheer:

Two big results this weekend.  Mia Brookes got her first World Cup Gold - she has already been World Champion - in the snowboard Big Air in Beijing.  Plenty of silver and bronze, but that's the first Gold.

And a 16th place for Cross Country skier Joe Davies in the 20km Freestyle in  Ruka this morning.  Joe had done a few WCs before, but was mostly on the NCAA circuit this last couple of years.  So that's a great result for him.

Couple of good results from lower level skeleton events.

Isabella Fassnidge, silver in the women's Europa Cup event in Altenberg.

Laurence Bastock, bronze in the men's event on the same track

For one brief moment :GBR 3rd & 4th at the finish of the Cross Country!

So in the final

Mugrave 11th

Davies 16th PB

Andrew Young 43rd

Gabriel Gledhill 51st on his debut :cheer:

Pretty good - was worried that after the two Andrews came to their career end we'd struggle, but seems not.....

First skeleton Gold of the Season to :GBR - Marcus Wyatt.  Matt Weston in silver.   Current World Cup leader Christopher Grotheer was injured and could not compete, but we'll take the points, thanks very much!

Wow, double Gold weekend in Winterberg!  Matt Weston's turn for Gold in the Skeleton, then an incredible 4 Man win for Brad Hall on a very difficult weather day!  Hopefully a bit more media coverage this season.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
