It has nothing to do with the countries, NHL won't release them! Many other good players are missing from other countries too

Out of curiousity, which countries (other than USA/Canada) you think are hurt most by this? I know there's quite a lot of good Swedes in the NHL, and the same for Russians (but they have the KHL), but I'm not even anywhere close to having a clue* about all this

Germany really suprises . If they beat Canada now , then I think they will manage to beat OAR aswell and take the gold.

In terms of the smaller countries, Slovenia's best player Anze Kopitar is in the NHL

 

Almost every country is affected except for basically Norway, Korea, and Germany

Shouldnt Canadian and American national hockey federations be above privately held organisation? Shouldnt national team be of greater importance than NHL team? How can NHL be above national interest? Maybe there are many questions but its pitty to see this tournament so hurt with this ban...

It's not problem the two weeks of competition. World would not stop if NHL season lasts two weeks longer. It's the risk of injuries that NHL hates (and from what I've heard there have been quite a few in Sochi), oh well...
