And there has been a tie for gold in a mass start cross country skiing race at the Olympics (two Norwegians, too).

Yes, but that's not a tie for gold, which is what I was talking about  

 

I don't care if there's not 'the bronze medal winner' because you're not a 'reigning bronze medal winner', I just find it really annoying that there's nobody who can claim to be the Olympic champion when there's a tie for gold.
