so 2 african teams could be in the same Group :mumble:

all these teams of the pot 3 are easy for Nigeria they have to beat the 2nd team of the pot 2 and bingo

No they said that geographical constraints still exist, a group can only have 2 european teams, and no other confederations in one group, so once nigeria or morocco come out , they will take out the groups of tunisia, egypt and senegal out of the pot

That's not totally true, Europe will gain only 3 more teams, the other confederations though will have pretty pointless qualifying.

South America will have 6

That is far from pointless.

Eh, South America might still be ok since this year was very close and chile didnt make it (and they might get 7th place since they will probably get another playoff spot)

but the other 3? 6 teams of Concacaf? 8 of AFC? 9 of CAF???

North America will have 6 (the entire Hex)

South America will have 6

Africa will have 9!!!

Asia will have 8!!!

and Oceania will have 1 direct

and also 2 playoff spots, not sure from which confederations yet

This expansion is only made for the smaller countries to qualify, not European teams

Thanks for this, I didn't actually paid attention on quotas. But that is too much for both, Asia and Africa. Needless to say that the quality will probably deteriorate

It's better than 10 extra places for Europe. Plus AFC and CAF have historically been better in accepting bribes :p

All of a sudden you'll see countries like Panama qualify, and countries like Honduras, DR Congo or Burkina Faso get really close :d

They just shouldn't expand, and then have a very convoluted tournament with 16 groups of 3 teams, the World Cup is Fine the way it is!

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
