when you play with fire...sooner or later you'll get burnt!

Parlati was living dangerously all day long, but against the hometown hero he persevered in his stupid attitude and paid the prize for that, losing by 3 "shido" (this time, all of them well deserved) without doing absolutely nothing.

and the Italian drought among the men at the Judo Worlds continues...believe it or not, we have never won a single male world gold medal :yikes:

and this year we'll not win any once again  :wall:

Two world championships bronze and an Olympic bronze, Sanne van Dijke has really begun a collection.

I wonder if we'll get anything other than bronze this tournament, something the Dutch team hasn't managed to do at the international stage since the gold medal for Van 't End I believe.

OMG!!! lots of surprising results in day #6 so far...

and very, very disappointing outcome for Italy, once again for lack of the right attitude on the mat... :wall:

p.s. my prediction contest has definitively gone fishing after today...:nopompom: :hairpull:

Well, our best judoka Julia Kowalczyk lost her first match with three shidos the other day and it's still a small miracle we got two other Top 8 placings with her not being one of them. Overall no medals should be expected for Poland anyway.

Pacut is in the bronze medal match...

That's a major surprise. Pacut comes from the same city where I was born and it's a city of Waldemar Legień which still operates one of the most successful judo clubs in Poland. Anyway, a medal here would still be a major shock. Polish judo has regressed badly over the last decade.

but not impossible...Boehm is good, but not so out of reach...

the session is starting in a few seconds, Pacut's match is the second (live on IJF.org, if you don't have any TV option or Discovery+/Eurosport Player)...
