heywoodu 13,881 Posted February 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2019 Live timing gets stuck with Alice Robinson of NZL in first place and leader Hrovat on her way between the last intermediate and the finish, come on If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! dcro 10,209 Posted February 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2019 Robinson, however, still has 3 more Junior Worlds unlike Hrovat for whom this is a farewell... #banbestmen
OlympicsFan 791 Posted February 19, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2019 Winning at junior worlds doesnt have to mean much for future success at senior level, but someone doing it while being 3 years younger than most of the competition is almost a safe sign that we are looking at a cant miss level of talent. Dvornik was also born in 2001, she seems to be a very good talent too. Disappointed by the whole italian team, Honkanen, Danioth and Hirtl-Stanggassinger. Not true according to FIS live timing ... There it says that Jessica Anderson from GB won with a margin of 40,74 seconds ahead of Robinson, the only thing suspicious here is that apparently she only needed 14,75 seconds to finish the second run ... phelps 1 Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached. Monzanator 3,876 Posted February 19, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2019 Well, having seen Robinson in Maribor and Are I'd say she has a shot to establish herself as Top 30 skier on World Cup Which is her preferred event? I'm old enough to have seen Zali Steggall & Claudia Riegler and hell, even Annelise Coberger so maybe I'll cheer for this kid?
OlympicsFan 791 Posted February 20, 2019 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Congrats to Hrovat! She isn't a generational talent, but she certainly has the potential to be a regular on the (giant) slalom podium in a couple of years. Sadly for her both Vlhova and Shiffrin are still young + Bassino, Holdener, Meillard and the austrian girls are all still pretty young. Overall slovenia is doing an amazing job in recent years, they might very well be a top 5 nation in a couple of years, especially if Vlhova keeps progressing at the same rate. Nullmeyer's development has been a bit disappointing, 2 years ago she won bronze but seems to have stagnated after that. On the men's side Rösti improved from his bronze medal last year, but for me the bigger story is McGrath from Norway. Being 2 years younger than the competition should be a huge disadvantage in the downhill, so he must be a huge talent to still fight for the medals already.
