Looking "before CR7" Portugal had quarterfinal or better appearances in Euros 1996 and 2000, they also made the 2002 World Cup. Quite the stretch, missing only the 1998 World Cup over the past 28 years. It's more amazing when you consider before then they only qualified in three major tournaments.

Our guys did fantastic job at this Euro, never mind penalties, it was first ever such clinical situation in our history. We are very proud, last night many people came to Ljubljana to celebrate with them. 

 

This is also new record, first time in history our national team is 10 matches in a row undefeated.

Yeah, the big cities in the Netherlands aren't gonna be nice Saturday, no matter who wins  

 

Glad we live in a small town, where the main thing is in an appartment above one of the supermarkets: someone has had a Dutch and Turkish flag there on the balcony, this person/family must have had a lovely evening yesterday
