Ha. I was behind the Pitcairn Islands one. All I did though was send a few emails to their government and the PGC asking about the possibility (in theory). Far as I know they do have young people who could compete in some sports (on-island and off) and they seemed interested when I talked to them. However, haven’t heard from them lately and I’m not sure they’ll end up applying. It’s hard to keep up a correspondence on Pitcairn, even though email.

There’s rumors that Hawaii and (I may be wrong here) Christmas Island May also be exploring joining the games.

All these islands only initiate as always but never make it to the games finally.

They’re also not huge fans of Laurel Hubbard. The newspaper’s lead story is a harsh piece about her and the opinion section has transphobic written all over it.

They're really not the only ones, understandably. Although that's an entirely separate discussion :p

Still there should be some class shown here. We can debate her status without using slurs and leading a crusade against her.

I think the PGC wanted to invite Christmas Island but due to the distance there isn’t any interest.

So there’s a strong chance (not certain because the Gold results only show the first 3 rounds) that a male :NIU golfer finished over +100 for the tournament.

So I’ve now been able to confirm all the sports that were broadcast at the 2019 Pacific Games. I don’t know when the replays will be uploaded, but I will publish my official Games Summary PDF when they are. The summary will include general information, participation nations, (hopefully) complete results, Replays, Highlights, and the Medal Table.

    • Is it true Mehdi Taremi could face visa issues due to him serving in the IRGC previously? Could US sanction professional footballers playing in World cup under FIFA?
    • For the summary and lowlights of Thailand's preparation in hosting the ongoing Sea Games, I kindly suggest those who are interested to read from this English language article from Thai media outlet, Thai Enquirer: https://www.thaienquirer.com/63469/thailands-sea-games-2025-under-fire-budget-management-and-technical-controversies/
    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
