I just hope we actually get an Asian Winter Games this cycle. There’s never been a better time for them in my opinion.

According to Wikipedia and some Thai sources, Thailand will host the 2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Apparently they will also bid for the 2026 Summer Youth Olympics, and 2030 Asian Games. They are already slated to host the 2025 SEA Games as well.

As @Vojthas just announced on the blog, Gangwon (Korea) will host the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics. There’s a large push for :PRK to host the Alpine Skiing events. I doubt it will happen. Though it will show again that the IOC is allowed to engage in politics, while the athletes they lord over, cannot even speak out against their own county’s leaders and sporting officials...

Say hi to the Caribbean Games :bye:https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1089793/guadeloupe-to-host-2021-caribbean-games

There’s now somewhere between 15-25 multi-sports games scheduled to take place in 2021.

And the Pan American Youth Games, which is the same age category. Makes no sense tbh

    • those who say that in the future, due to global warming and lack of snow, all sports at the Winter Olympics will have to be held indoors. Do you even think about what you are talking about? The FIS Cross-Country World Cup distances are 20 km skiathlon and 50 km mass start. Is there even a facility in the world that can host 20 and 50 km races? Is it possible? Well, let's imagine that such a facility was built somewhere in Paris and Monaco. Les Rousses spent so much money on building the tracks and infrastructure and then kicked it out of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup because Paris and Monaco, which have more money came to the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Places like Les Rousses would simply go bankrupt trying to popularize the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, do we really need that?
    • Any word about TV Coverage?  Discovery has the five senior races as normal, but no sign of the age group races.  Locked away on Belgian payTV?
    • Ah good, was wondering what the relationship of Endurance Rowing was to Coastal Rowing.  They're wimping out a bit holding it at Genoa though, would prefer somewhere a bit more storm-tossed.
    • This was pretty fun to watch  Coverage was fine, racing was fun, no problem at all.
    • Thanks @phelps for gathering information   but World Skate is an Olympic federation now, yet they can't provide a basic result system for their main event.    OK I'm not asking for a live score system, but how hard it is to post results in PDF after each event ?    not talking about the sport but this IF doesn't deserve to be in the Olympics.
    • from Thursday, Sept. 12th through Sunday, Sept. 15th,  Genua hosts the Coastal Rowing World Championships in the Olympic Format (Beach Sprint)   it's the first championship since the discipline has been elected to the Olympic stage   last week, the Endurance World Championships were also held in Genua     the champions:   CW1x:  Monika Dukarska   CM1x:  Finlay Hamill   CW2x:  Katharina Lobnig, Magdalena Lobnig CM2x:  Igor Khmara, Stanislav Kovalov CW4x+:  Anna Sarah Sophie Souwer, Kiri English-Hawke, Marieke Keijser, Karolien Florijn, Dieuwke Fetter CM4x+:  Yuriy Ivanov, Mykola Mazur, Ivan Futryk, Ivan Dovhodko, Anastasiia Kozyr CMix2x:  Patricio Rojas Aznar, Amanda Gil Camacho
    • One more nation to reach decent number of 30 participants.
    • Inline Slalom   women's Slalom   Gold:  Mona Heller Silver:  Lorenza Cesaris Bronze:  Manuela Schmohl   men's Junior Slalom   Gold:  Mattia Pè Silver:  Christian Rondi Bronze:  Marcos Arias Sanchez
    • Judging always takes two or three minutes in these competitions - longer even for possible medal runs - for reasons above, so just saying DNI is a way of saying it's not worth comparing a fall on the third hit to a fall on the fourth hit since neither are going to affect the overall.
    • Scoring in all these events is a bit strange as they are not judging a pre-defined move to an absolute standard, as happens in diving, gymnastics etc, but are constantly shuffling around trying to score riders relative not only to each other, but to that riders' previous runs earlier in the competition and qualifying.
