No one cares about Fed Cup final

Few words:

France :FRA vs. :CZE Czech Republic

Venue: Rhenus Sport, Strasbourg, France

Last time France played in Fed Cup final was in 2005, Russia defeated France at Roland Garros 3-2. France won Fed Cup twice (1997, 2003)

Czech Republic is the defending champion, winning Fed Cup nine times (1975, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1988, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015).

Rubbers:

:CZE Karolina Pliškova def. Kristina Mladenovic 6-3, 4-6, 16-14 = is the longest singles set in a Fed Cup Final in terms of games

:FRA Caroline Garcia def. Petra Kvitova 7-6, 6-3

:FRA Caroline Garcia def. Karolina Pliškova 6-3, 3-6, 6-3

What a match between Pliškova and Mladenovic

Fantastic preformance from Garcia, giving to her team two match points!

Garcia and Mladenovic won Charleston, Stuttgart, Madrid, Roland Garros this season. Last 3 out 4 defeats came from Mattek-Sands/Safarova who have been in magnificent form since Wimbledon (won US Open, Wuhan, Beijing + YEC final)...

And Caro and Kiki always performed well in doubles Fed Cup ties. Though, this one will be heavy...

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
