Somehow I thought it was still in weekends. Well, they must have gotten too many viewers then, having it when most people are working will take care of that problem

This format is a shame. Nobody is going to pay 45€ on weekdays to watch a game that could last 8 or even 9 hours!

 forfeited their doubles match against the  to rest for the quarterfinals. This means the US got a 6-0, 6-0 victory, which may help them get a best runner-up spot.

Who possibly could have foreseen  that problem, except everybody other than the organizers?

If you don't want to play one more series then just do straight knockouts.
