The backlash of men competing in the female events would be much greater. IOC will make sure the Olympics will go smoothly and worry about the court cases later. Olympics should be about sport and not California state laws.

The transgender athletes with high Testosteron can start at the men's competition. Nobody forbids them to do this.

Transgender athletes are required to lower their testosterone to natural gender levels.

Yep.   Steira also won the 5000m in 2009 and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen has a bronze medal on the 5000m. Jacobsen also starts in the 5000m this year. 

By the way, Johaug's personal best is 33:36 (10km), but that is set on road, so she is probably faster on track.

When did Maryna Novik move to Norway? I kind of remember her name from some old BLR results but haven’t heard of anything from her for ages!

Are you sure you are talking about the same Maryna Novik?

only if they want to compete among the "real women" (those with XX chromosomes)...

 

if they want to start among the men, they can keep their testosterone level up as they normally have (still, within male average allowed values)...

 

and this is more than correct...and not discriminatory at all...

 

it's not that they must be allowed to whatever they want beyond other people's rights (and natural laws)...they just have the right to live their life without being threatened day in and day out by a bunch of idiots...
