South American Games 2022

Uruguay's men's sevens team got the bronze medal. They lost to Chile in the first match, therefore they missed the gold medal match (there's no semifinals...).

Uruguay's women's basketball team also got the bronze medal. It should be noted that Argentina and Brazil did not enter, nevertheless it's an excellent result.

It’s interesting to see that rugby sevens ended up with two completely different podiums. :ARG:CHI:URU for men; :BRA:PAR:COL for women

How good was Paraguay? Any chance they upset Brazil for the Olympic qualification?

Absolutely 0 chance. They beat our team because our team is trash and the girls have negative rugby IQ.

Brazil is the clear number one of the south american female rugby, the rest only have a chance in a match with the brazilians drunks after a party.

:ARU won their second gold medal of the Games in women’s doubles bowling :cheer:

It’s been a great Games for them so far. I believe they’d never even won a gold medal before this edition (unless one of PanamSports, ODESUR, Centro Caribe Sports got it wrong.) Their athletes have certainly performed well in Asunción.

I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
