Happy Japan won. It gives more countries a better shot i guess?

Yes, it essentially means the 10th ranked team (assuming Argentina wins the Pan American quota), currently Ireland will be a seeded team and whoever among the unseeded team (currently, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea) gets that match-up will fancy their chances.

A team that lost a game 8-0 ends up winning the tournament.

Malaysia squandered a 5-2 lead with 8 minutes to go and a 6-5 in the last minute. I feel their chance for OG is gone with this...

Now we know who the low-level team is. You shouldn't lose a match with that kind of advantage. :wall:

Both teams are low level, it's just that Japan is even lower.

I still have no idea how India did not win this competition.

India does well except in multi level events ... underwhelming at the commonwealth , underwhelming at the asians , underwhelming at the last olympics ...... I do not know what will it take them to actually play well ....................... this team break my heart always

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.
    • I’ve been recently introduced by some friends to cricket (or the t20 version of it, at least) and actually liked it so I’m following the World Cup that’s happening during this month

    • Tried to open a new topic for the Women's World Cup like the one for Men's but i guess the common thread will have to do it for the girls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, some interesting matches on this first four days i would say, especially the defeat of India agains New Zealand.
