Any idea what happened with Vassiliev? DNS'ed in the 2nd round yesterday, today he showed up in team presentation but then didn't appear in the competition (screwing the team because now they only have 3 jumpers).

@justony What's this about? I get it is about Kranjec and his wife and daughter and they adopted her from Guinea-Bissau, but I got curious and could not understand if it was because they couldn't get children or another reason :p

Dmitry Vasiliev's old injury worsened and the coaching staff decided not to put the athlete at risk on the Flying Hill decided that Dmitry will not start

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
