Cross-Country Skiing FIS World Cup 2021 - 2022

Interesting to see Estonia having two women's teams in the team sprint, but the Kaasiku twins (who usually have scarily similar results as well) are still split up instead of forming one team.

Love to see Diggins still winning races!  Hopefully this is all a prelude for more medals at the Olympics

Will be tough. Unfortunately the ultra fast :SWE are sitting this one out.

French sprinters still doing great. Hopefully they can keep it that way until Beijing.

They will leave the Tour after Lenzerheide. For me incomprehensible why you do not take Oberstdorf and thus lose important points in the Sprint World Cup. Before the Olympics, there is only one more sprint in Les Rousses.

No doubt. Fortunately for her the individual sprint in Beijing is freestyle this time around, so that's her best bet for a medal.  And it we saw what happened in PyeongChang against an ultra fast Swede in a freestyle sprint!

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
