She's not showing any sign of tactical progression :wall:

But paradoxically, her best achievements are in Keirin, where you would think tactics play a bigger part ... maybe something to do with her gear ratio ?

Possibly, although she would have lost those sprint heats with any gears, she simply looked away in the decider. Sort of like Uran against Vinokourov in the 2012 Olympic road race, although in this case it was just a bad mistake instead of Vinokourov offering a bag of money :p

Curious to see how she'll do in the keirin. Physically she's absolutely capable of beating everyone..

Is that confirmed or is it a conspiracy theory? :p

Not sure whether or not it's officially confirmed, but I think I've heard literally nobody who believes Uran made an honest mistake there, it was way, way too obvious :p

And, I mean, it's Vinokourov, few cyclists are more suspicious than him as both a cyclist and a team manager. The term 'he must have received a letter from Vino' whenever a disappointing Astana rider suddenly improves out of nowhere is rather well-known, for example :p

That is without even mentioning the long, long legal process about his LBL win in 2010, which he allegedly bought from Kolobnev (who basically rode like the perfect leadout for Vino), even though the 150.000 euro that was sent by Vino to Kolobnev was explained away as merely 'a loan to my friend' :d

Either Ganna took it way too easy in qualifying, or he's just reaching a (very logical) end of his abilities for this season. Anyhow, he's going for 'only' bronze against Imhof, after which Milan and fastest qualifier Lambie are going to battle it out for gold.

Lambie only started riding track in 2017. He isn't a high-level bunch racer on the track and the only Tokyo 2020 event he'd have been picked for would have been the team pursuit (which the US men did not qualify for).

As for Ganna - don't forget he also cracked a rib the other day. He was set for last Sunday's Chrono des Nations but pulled out to focus on these championships.
