Lithuania announced their finalised team earlier today and it consists of 27 athletes, a steady improvement over 19 athletes back in 2016. With Lithuania bidding to host the European U20 and U23 in 2021, the level of the sport in our country is steadily increasing in all youth and junior categories, followed with a lot of broken records.

As always, we seem to qualify more women than men in Athletics events, interesting thing is that we rarely have qualifications in men's triple jump, mid distance running events, steeplechase races and we have 5 people qualified in that. We nearly had our first historical pole vault qualification too, but I guess that was not meant to happen Anyways, we're expecting good things from Bukauskas, Čepys, Repšytė, Garšvaitė and the other athletes have their chance to surprise everyone.

It's a bit awkward when it feels like I'm the only person genuinely extremely hyped for this event even when we don't have medal hopes

It's a European under 18 championship in something else than biathlon, even I am not getting extremely hyped for that before it starts

I admit, I have an extreme soft spot for athletics and I have a problem I have a lot of excel files following the qualifications of every year and I update them after every single minor event daily My friend that works in Athletics is annoyed with my extreme passion for U20 and U18 athletics

Does anyone has the overview how many athletes  qualify per event for the YOG 

 

i saw it somewhere once, but cannot find it again. Although I don’t believe Croatia has a chance. Our team is large but no real medal or even final contender. Our best chance for final is probably Klara Andrijasevic 1500/3000m.

Very similar to last time around, when our only qualifier came from girls' hammer throw (mainly thanks to Europe being awarded with massive 11 spots).
