avlar 372 Posted February 26 #634 Share Posted February 26 And show must go on. russians filed 3(!) appeals to CAS (from ROC, national skating federation and all the team mebers including Valieva). Their demand: ROC team must be awarded with gold medals... including Kamila Valieva. NearPup, intoronto and Josh

Okay, but there'd still be a glaring issue if they win that appeal. ROC still technically fielded then an "ineligible" athlete, as Valieva's doping infringement is backdated to December 25, 2021. To quote the statement released by CAS after the ruling: Quote All competitive results of Ms Valieva from 25 December 2021 are disqualified, with all the resulting consequences (including forfeiture of any titles, awards, medals, profits, prizes, and appearance money). intoronto 1 “Sport has the power to change the world. vovanA 169 Posted August 2 #639 Share Posted August 2 The CAS Panel in charge of the appeals filed by Canadian skaters Madeline Schizas, Piper Gilles, Paul Poirier, Kirsten Moore-Towers, Michael Marinaro, Eric Radford, Vanessa James and Roman Sadovsky, together with Skate Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) (collectively, the Appellants) against the re-ranking decision announced by the International Skating Union (ISU) on 30 January 2024 (the Challenged Decision) in relation to the final standings for the Team Event in figure skating at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 has issued its decision: the appeal is dismissed. The ranking announced by the ISU on 30 January 2024 is confirmed as follows: 1. United States of America 65 pts (gold) 2. Japan 63 pts (silver) 3. Russia 54 pts (bronze) ridiculous Canada should have taken bronze clearly Josh 1 Bring back the 1991 borders
