If anyone was thinking the soap opera of Bulgarian weightlifting has ended, oh my sweet summer child 😄 The Federation is owing 36 k Euro to IWF for the organisation of the European Championship in February. 

 

We have until 20th May to pay up, otherwise our 3 lifters, including Karlos Nasar will be barred from the Olympics. The Federation has been in debt for 8 months now. They don't have any money and the Sports Ministry are refusing to give them the new budget, because of said previous debts. 

 

And the deadline for this payment was actually the end of April. IWF made an exception and extended to May 20th, just so they don't DQ our guys. Weightlifting isn't amongst the brightest sports at all, but i am fully convinced, that the people involved with it have a lower IQ, than monkeys in a zoo.
