If it came down to it, Japan could qualify two athletes at the World Surfing Games. It was clear that the third quota was made for so it was kind of funny that a different nation got it.

Wsl has confirmed that Defay needs to compete in one WCT event to be eligible. Two more stages till the cut of mid-season.

Good to know. Assuming Defay knows about this requirement, I imagine she's taking a trip to Australia next month regardless of her recovery.

Looks like Defay is competing in the 4th event which locks up her spot at the Olympics.

So Defay  competed in Bells Beach, and she is up to the quotas.

 

It still needs official confirmation by WSL/ISA but  and  got one quota at women's side.

 

The  and  will probably define their representants at Finals.
