some expected updates from other continents but looks like Australia rejected a quota in favor of Guam or something like that

Unfortunate that Australia rejected both C1 quotas. The Guam athlete in the women's C1 200m had a time of 1:43 at the Oceania qualifier. Most athletes will finish the race in under 50 seconds and I imagine the second slowest (barring an injury) will finish in under a minute.

Also the men's C1 1000m quota has not been reallocated. There is currently a bit of a reallocation issue. Following the letter of the law it could go to Samoa, but the athlete had a DNS, but since he counted as one of the three eligible nations in order to make this event eligible he should technically get the quota. Of course, awarding a quota to someone who didn't even race would be seen as bad faith so the quota should go to Ukraine based on their performance at the 2023 World Championships.

That was a really nice race for Poland - M K2 500 qualified for Paris a few days ago. Enjoy, if you haven't seen it yet

ICF update

nothing we didn't know already, just still no confirmation from Russia (and they have to reject the C1M quota), I assume it takes more time for AIN athletes, BLR confirmed it just yesterday

    • It's an interesting question, Norway is certainly expanding their efforts into a number of new sports. So, that cannot help but to peal off a few more natural athletes. I know their training methods are kinda rocking the world in a number of summer endurance sports.  I can't really speak to they dynamics of their development program. Their men's nordic programs largely always seem to be ridiculously deep, overwhelmingly so the last decade or so.

    • But it seems to us that Norway wasn't as strong in Lillehammer 1994 as it was later? And not just in women's events. Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing. I remember in the 1990s, Italy's biggest rivals, Belmondo and di Centa, were Russia, when Norway somewhere further back and only in the classic style. Bente Martinsen- Skari, this is their first really strong girl in cross country, just about 2000, just like Liv Grete Skielbreid- Pioree in women`s biathlon at similar times.   Do you think, that is there any hope that thanks to the popularity of Haaland and football in general in Norway in recent years, winter sports such as biathlon or cross-country skiing will lose a little bit, becouse that?

    • This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
