In football, the mens natonal team reached semi-finals of the Copa América, where they lost 1-0 to Colombia. The team played harshly against Brazil and Colombia, and on top of that some players got in a brawl with fans at the grandstands. Severe suspensions are expected.

In rugby union, the Teros lost to France 43-28 here at the Estadio Charrúa. As usual, fans were allowed into the field to get selfies and autographs with players of both teams. I had tickets, but got sick and had to miss it.

In tennis' Ariel Behar was criticised by his (probably former) Czech teammate Adam Pavlásek for a bad reverse shot.

The Olympic delegation is set with 25 competitors in nine sports.

Gold medal winners will get US$ 25 k, 15 for silver, 10 k for bronze, and 8 k for a diploma (top 8). The rugby team would get triple to be split between players.

In rugby sevens, the Teros lost the three Olympic group phase matches, and then the 9th place semifinals. The team made just too many ball handling mistakes.
