All those NHL players Czech's had... We just needed 1 team to beat them ;)
I know for sure though, that the hockey will be WAY more intense against Russia & defending WC Gold medalist Sweden.

Another team to unveil their final roster is Italy.

so let have a quick brief recap:

The coach Clayton Beddoes announced a full team of 25 players, 22+3 so the complete roster.

The main part of the team is formed from 11 players of the local Alps Hockey League.

The top star of the team will be probably the galtender Andreas Bernard who started the last season in :FIN when he was the #1 goaltender of ässät pori, but then finished the season with some good numbers in the german DEL team Adler Mannheim.

As it was a tradition in the past, we can find quite a lot of naturalized north americans in the final Italian roster.

5 Players of the team played last season in the EBEL league, 2 in the :SUI NLA.

The top scorer of the team should be obviously Giovanni Morini who scored 14 goals in last season for the :SUI HC Lugano. worth to mention is also Diego Kostner one of the legends of this team has played his 8th consecutive season in :SUI for Ambri Piotta

The oldest player of the team is the 37 years old Marco Rosa, who already played in the past in AHL, in :FIN or in :GER top leagues, but only now this naturalized canadian will experience his debut with the Italian National Team.

to be honest, in the past few years (and this season is no exception), the number of non-Italian born players has lowered down dramatically...

this team, in particular, only has 5 "imported" players (Trivellato, who was born in Italy, but has dual citizenship ITA and GER, where he lived most of his life; McMonagle, who's Italian by marriage; Miceli, Bardaro and Rosa, who are Canadian born, but have taken advantage of their Italian heritage)...

even Zanatta, despite his father being the Canadian born former Italian NT player Ivano, was born and raised here in Italy (and then went to SUI to play in a more competitive league)...

all the other guys, even those with names that might sound not Italian at 100% are instead a full Italian product (all of them coming from the Italian and German dual speaking region of South Tyrol)...

p.s. Hochkofler's given name is Peter, not Thomas ;)

p.p.s. about goal scoring ability, Bardaro is definitely the most talented sniper in this team...and also Lambacher is a more offensive oriented player than Morini (who's more a defensive forward than anything else, even if he's very quick on the skates and therefore he can score some goals on counter attacks)...

well, it's obvious, as he plays for a top tier club in a top tier league...;)

it's difficult to become famous abroad when you play in a small league with very few followers and no media attention...

In this perseverance lies our shared strength, our mission to millions of young people for whom sports are a guiding point and a shining star. I believe in our country, in our strong-spirited guys. According to this research 43% of the neutral statuses issued by the IFs were fake AIN  - https://razom22.com/neutrality-research/  And the figures are based on the IOC decisions - not on the evaluations by Ukrainian NOC or sport ministry. Right now the situation is absolutely unclear. As usually )) Some notes: 1. Russians will not reject quotas for 2026 as they did for 2024 in judo and wrestling. 2. AINERP may be more loyal to russians due to the new member - Watanabe. His federation issued AIN status to Melnikova who took part in the primaries of the russian ruling party, had phots with Z and e .t.c. 3. I do not expect a lot of reallocations becaues of the total small number of the rus/blr athletes in qualification events right now. 4. BUT, even with these small numbers we see that FIS allowed to compete several incompliant persons.        Short notes from the IOC statement before Paris - 2024:   1. IOC`s decisions to reject quotas are final. 2. IOC`s decisions to approve quotas are not final - new facts may lead to the rejection of invitation. 3. IOC`s decisions cannot be appealed - NOCs were not invited to the Games, so it is a good will to invite individual athletes... or not   russians Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Adeliia PETROSIAN Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC Figure skating Petr GUMENNIK Men's singles Davide Lewton Brain Confirmed by IOC belorussians     Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Viktoriya SAFONOVA Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC
